From Elk City to Corpus.... Plus Granada News

From Elk City to Corpus, from Odessa to Longview.... Six long weeks later, we've officially been to pretty much every corner Texas and Oklahoma to promote "The Devil (Revisited)" to country radio.  It's been a blast, and we've met a ton of cool folks along the way.  We're amazed at how willing people are to let us talk about our music.

Here's a behind the scenes taste of how these visits go. This is "Walk With Me" at 95.9 The Ranch in Fort Worth, TX. It was a real pleasure to visit those guys. They, along with a ton of other stations, have had our back from day one.

If you dig the tune, just click here for a free download. All we ask is that you do your best to spread the word and share our music.

Besides the radio news, we're super excited to play the Granada Theater again with Brandon Rhyder. It's right around the corner on August 22. Click the image to the left (or above if you're mobile) for a link to tickets.

This Friday we'll be in Lubbock at The Office with Wes Nickson. On Saturday, we're heading to the Lumberyard in Roscoe to hang out with our buddy Jamie Richards.  Y'all check out Wes and Jamie when you can. We're looking forward to sharing the stage with both of those fellas.

One thing we're working on for you guys is a comprehensive list of stations that are playing our music. That way, if you are so inclined, you can pick up the phone and request our tunes.

Until then, keep it trashy, and if you're a friend and fan in Dallas/Fort Worth, we'd certainly appreciate you helping us get the word out about August 22 at Granada Theater with Brandon Rhyder. You can do that by sharing this blog post.

Radio Tour Week 2: East Texas and Larry Joe Taylor

Well, as I sit here on Sunday morning, it's time to reflect on last week's adventures.

Jim Nash (L) and Carey Dean (R); Ranch Corsicana

Wednesday kicked off with a bang as we headed down to Corsicana to see our buds at 106.9 The Ranch. We've had the pleasure of visiting those guys a few times now, and each visit is a little more entertaining than the last.

We left Corsicana to visit some friends in Lufkin. Kicks105 shot a short little video of the interview. You can watch that here. Thanks to Kicks for having us in.

Our bud Mike Martin at KYBI rounded off the day. He's putting a little bar and stage in his studio to amp up the interview experience. We think Mike's probably onto something.

Thursday was Aggie96 in Bryan and KTEX in Brenham. We set up our brand new shiny iPad in Brenham and recorded "Off My Mind," which is one of our favorite tunes to play live.

We kicked off Friday morning visiting Lisa Christi (left) at K-STAR in Montgomery. This is our third time to visit Lisa.  She knows the Texas music scene up and down, so it's always fun to to talk shop with her.

The last stop was with Greg and Jason at KXAX in Livingston. Those two are six months into their new station. It's cool to see a couple of guys chasing a dream, just like we are. They are hardcore music fans, so it was great to finally meet them.

The cherry on top was, of course, getting to open up for Texas legend Larry Joe Taylor at Dosey Doe in Conroe.  You never really know what to expect when you open up for a guy like that, but it was exactly what we'd hoped for. I'd say the coolest part of the whole night (besides watching his show) was listening to his road stories out in the parking lot after the gig. It's really cool to meet a Texas music legend who is just as friendly and welcoming as he looks on stage!

Until next time amigos!

Radio Tour Week 1: "The Devil (Revisited)" out to Radio!

Well, folks, we've done it again. We're now officially at the start of a 6-week tour promoting our THIRD single to Texas radio! And we could not be more excited to get started on the next leg of our journey.

The tune is "The Devil (Revisited)," and we're one week into promoting the tune. Here's a pic from a visit last week with Dayton Gonzales at KCTI.  Dayton showed us some ancient, rare records back in the station vault.

After our visit with her, we swung down to visit some friends in Alice, Corpus Christi, Lampasas and Ballinger. We saw Dave Wheaton in Abilene to round it all off.

Dave recorded the visit and wrote all about it on the KEAN blog.

If you look around the site, you'll see all kinds of places to download the single for free.  We would certainly appreciate it if you clicked here and downloaded our new single on the house!

Thanks for all of your continued support. Hope to see you at a shown real soon.

Cheers,
The Rusty Brothers

Bridgestone Tires - "The Devil" is on TV!

A few weeks ago I put up a very puzzling post on The Rusty Brothers Facebook page: "Big news coming from our camp. Can't wait to share with y'all!!" (Probably too many exclamation points but, hey, I was excited). Well, here you go folks:

Official Radio Poster

We are very pleased to announce that our song "The Devil" has been placed in a nationwide, major network, prime-time Bridgestone Tires television commercial! That's right, your favorite local country band now has access to millions of homes across America... STARTING TONIGHT! Little scary, right?

We are very thankful to the folks at Bridgestone Tires for selecting our song. There are a couple of people who helped line this up and, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank them.

As soon as we get a copy of the commercial ourselves, we'll be blasting it out all over God's creation. It starts running this evening, so if you see a Bridgestone Tires commercial featuring a large, portly Denver Bronco named Terrance "Potroast" Knighton, listen up! That's our tune!

So what are we going to do next?

Well, we decided to recut a brand new, more up-to-date version of The Devil and send it out to the powers that be across Texas radio. We're calling it The Devil (Revisited) and it will be our third official radio single. It's got some slammin' guitar parts and we think you guys are really going to dig. We'll have that up on iTunes, Spotify and the rest of the Internet ASAP.

Please sign our e-mail list to get notified when it hits stores. Also, you'll get free music from us just by signing up now!
